My Young Living Essential Oil Recipes for Mom
As a busy Mom of three, who is running two businesses and maintaining a household, I have realized how amazing my oils are for me. However, getting the time to use them isn't always there. So, I have created some super easy ways to use my oils, pamper myself, and even save some money!
Face cream is one of my favorite ways to use my oils, and something that I use EVERY single day. I am all about knowing exactly what is in the product I am putting on my skin, so this one is super easy. Shea Butter 3 oz, Vitamin E oil 1 tsp, Frankincense 10 drops, Lavender 10 drops, and Melaleuca Alternifolia 10 drops. The shea butter is ultra moisturizing, while the essential oils help with smoothing, healing, and breakouts.
Bath Salt- When I do get a few minutes to myself, I love taking a bath. Well this recipe is SO EASY, full of great ingredients, relaxing, cheap, and SO EASY! Honestly, I use a large canning jar, add two cups of epsom salt, 10-15 drops of my oil of choice, usually lavender, sometimes peace and calming or stress away, then put the cover on and shake! I add it to my bath and the rest gets stored for use later. So Easy AND affordable.
Sugar Scrub- My guilty pleasure is a good sugar scrub. I have always loved sugar scrubs, but once I went through my home and got rid of the toxins, it was something I didn't get to enjoy as often. Plus, with three kids $20 or more a jar just wasn't in the budget. However, now, I get to enjoy an amazing sugar scrub whenever I want! I use a pyrex bowl and add in about one cup of turbinado (sugar in the raw) sugar, a cup of carrier oil such as YL's V-6 or coconut oil, and then around 10 drops of my oil of choice. For scrub, I really like peppermint, but lavender or stress away or citrus fresh or any other preferred smell would also be great choices. Then I put it in a covered container and use it as I have time. A scrub is awesome to incorporate into your life two times a week because it sloughs off all of the dead skin, plus stimulates the circulatory system and breakdowns cellulite under the skin. AWESOME! (and affordable!!!)
Diffusing: I can put 5-6 drops of whatever oil I am feeling at the time and then I get to gently inhale it throughout my home for the next few hours. Some of my favorite combinations are joy and lemon, citrus fresh and spearmint, thieves, lavender and peace and calming, or motivation. (Again, this is way healthier than the candles I used to buy, AND more affordable!)
Muscle Cream- Then after a long day, this is my go to for sore muscles. No explanation needed. No toxic chemicals pouring into the muscles either!
Lastly, if I am really in a hurry and need a little boost, my stress away and joy always have a roller ball on top of them, so a quick swipe to the wrist, and my neck and over my heart, and I am on my way.
