Food: Healthy Homemdade Chocolate
his three ingredient chocolate is so easy, and delicious. Did I mention healthy? Really. It is. Plus, for us, it doesn't have any of those icky additives like soy, and it is processed peanut free, because we make it in our own kitchen. Also, no dairy!
What you need:
1 cup Organic Coconut Oil
1 cup Cacao Powder
2 Tbsp. Raw Organic Honey
In a double boiler over a medium low heat- gently stir the coconut oil and honey just until almost melted. (If it is fully melted, too hot, and you add your cacao it can become a bit grainy. While not the end of the world, you get a smoother result if you add your cacao in and work at mixing it a bit.)
Stir in cacao. This last batch, I did add a little more cacao because I prefer my chocolate really dark. If you aren't a huge fan of coconut, you can also use cacao butter.
To make the chocolate covered strawberries, let your mixture cool slightly so that it becomes a little more thick and dip in cold strawberries. The chocolate will harden up fairly quick on the cold strawberries, but it also softens really quick if you touch it with your fingers.
You can also make chocolate chips from this recipe or chocolate bark by placing a layer of parchment paper in a 9x9 pan, adding the chocolate and placing in the refrigerator for about an hour. Take it out and chop it up with a knife. I recommend storing your chocolate in the refrigerator or freezer for later use.
